Our hockey stick reviews are designed to help you weigh tradeoffs to find the best fit. We collaborate with players and gear experts to review each stick based on weight (how light the stick is), response (how quickly the stick flexes and releases energy when struck), and feel (how comfortable the stick feels in the hands). Rankings are updated weekly based on SidelineSwap sales data.
The PULSE features a shaft with two energy zones that let players load a shot smoothly and then deliver explosive speed once it’s unleashed. A raised-ink grip texture keeps control firm in all conditions, while a stiff, lightweight blade core gives solid puck feedback and lively rebound on shots. Balanced weight distribution moves mass higher up the stick, making it feel even lighter in play and helping optimize responsiveness on every pass and shot.
The Trigger 10 Pro has a redesigned ultra-low kick point that lets energy flow into shots with minimal effort, helping you beat goalies before they can react. It's a refined one-piece composite that uses lightweight NanoLite Shield and ST2X carbon to keep mass down while preserving strength, and the updated blade and ergonomic shaft shape enhance balance and stickhandling feel. The result is a precision-minded stick that loads easily, feels lively in the hands, and turns quick decisions into quick goals.
The All Black hockey sticks are a top choice for performance-focused players. Made from high-end carbon, they offer great durability and performance. Their balanced design enhances precision in shots and passes, while the rounded shaft and 1-piece construction provide an excellent feel. The low kick point enables explosive power and faster releases.
The All Black has the square Lidstrom toe that makes digging pucks out of corners easier. My stick is 95 flex and has taken a beating, but it keeps on ticking. When I received the stick, it was shorter than I was used to, but easily enough, I added an extension. No brand means a reduced price. Several of my buddies have now gone to ProBlackStock for their sticks. Because of shipping, I would suggest buying the two pack as a minimum.

The Bauer Twitch is a low-kick stick that loads energy closer to your bottom hand for quicker recoil and more explosive shots. The shaft combines TeXtreme Carbon Fiber and Boron reinforcement—the same ultra-light, high-strength material first seen in the AG5NT—to deliver durability and responsiveness without added weight. It's a true one-piece construction that ensures seamless energy transfer from handle to blade, while the stiff blade core maximizes shot pop and puck feel. Weighing just 345 grams, the Bauer Twitch offers a blend of speed, power, and precision.
The CCM JetSpeed FT8 Pro features a hybrid kick point that blends speed and strength for fast, accurate releases and heavy drives. Its composite shaft combines thin aluminum layers with carbon fiber for enhanced impact resistance, while the R-geometry shape, featuring rounded corners and concave sidewalls, delivers comfort and control. The EVO blade features a soft heel paired with a stiff toe, providing explosive shooting performance. Weighing just 375g and available with +1/4 blade pattern options.
The XF Ghost's mid kick profile optimizes consistency across wrist shots, snap shots, and passes, while a stiffer pro-grade blade resists torsion for improved accuracy on harder shots. A “T” geometry shaft offers a square-like feel that many elite players prefer, and a textured grip finish keeps hands engaged even when the pace accelerates. Built with CCM’s NanoLite Shield carbon layering, this stick balances strength and low weight for all-around performance.
The Bauer Vapor FlyLite hockey stick represents a shift towards lightweight, quick-release designs. Incorporating Bauer's XE Taper technology, it offers a responsive feel while using Advanced Carbon Layering to minimize weight without compromising durability. The Micro Feel II shaft features a rounded profile, providing exceptional control and a quick release for faster shots.
When you mention high performance while being durable, the FlyLite stands out. I got the P92 with the 85 flex, which is an unreal stick. It gives me a ton of upside! I recommend it! I already bought 7 of them for the future.

The Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 hockey stick enhances the legacy of the Vapor line, focusing on speed and agility. It is the lightest and most durable version yet, incorporating ACL 2.0 technology for optimized carbon layering, which reduces weight by 25 grams compared to the previous model. This lighter design improves stick handling, shot speed, and maneuverability on the ice.
The Hyperlite 2 provides a superior feel for the puck. Even if the player uses it for the first time, they may become accustomed to handling the puck in a shorter period of time. Thus, nurturing and getting used to various moves. The stick definitely provides a wicked quick release with precision.

The CCM Jetspeed FT7 Pro is a hybrid kick point hockey stick that enhances on-ice performance. It utilizes Nanolite Shield carbon layering and variable thicknesses for a lightweight yet durable design. The blade on the FT7 Pro is crafted to enhance puck handling and control.
Durable, light, and easy to use. I have only used it a handful of times, but puck feel is fantastic, puck handling is easier than it should be. I usually have a hard time lifting the puck, but no problems here. Shot accuracy and power are great. Overall, easily worth the money. Will be getting another one if this breaks.

The Bauer Nexus Tracer hockey stick is ultra-lightweight, thanks to its Carbon Fiber construction, enhancing stickhandling and puck control. It incorporates Connectech technology, a rubber layer that improves the stick-to-player feel, and Monocomp one-piece technology for strengthened consistency and fewer defects.
The Nexus' flex profile provides a great balance of power and feel. The blade is stiff enough for powerful shots, but flexible enough for delicate touch passes. The Tracer's shaft feels balanced in your hands, making it easy to maneuver and handle the puck. The grip is tacky enough to provide a secure hold, but not so sticky that it's uncomfortable. Overall, if you're a skilled player who values stickhandling and passing, the Nexus Tracer is definitely worth considering.

The CCM FT Ghost hockey stick offers a powerful and responsive option in CCM's lineup, distinct from the Jetspeed line. This limited-edition stick features a hybrid kick point for strong shot loading and quick releases. It includes the X-Soft Pro blade, known for great puck feel and control, and a "C" geometry shaft that enhances handling and comfort for improved stick control.
The Ghost was my first CCM stick. I had always stuck to Bauer up until now. The stick is longer than normal; I didn't want to cut it down, so I had to get used to the length and lie, both of which can probably be customized. The stick is lightweight and well-built. It takes a lot of slashes from other beer league players and has held up well. It has a nice release and a great feel while carrying the puck.

The CCM Ribcor Trigger 9 Pro features an optimized low kickpoint that effortlessly loads up for explosive shots. The innovative Nanolite shield carbon layering technology delivers exceptional strength and lightness, while the Helicoid blade with Dual Feel enhances performance, feel, and durability. Reinforced with Sigma STP carbon, this stick minimizes weight and maximizes resilience.
I have the P38 70 flex, and it handles like a dream. I'm able to pick my corners and get a lot of power with every type of shot. The weight isn't the lightest, but the balance is great, and durability seems to be better than most top-end sticks.

The Bauer Vapor League Hockey Stick features a low-kick flex profile and XE-Taper Technology which facilitates rapid shot execution. This stick is ideal for agile forwards who prioritize speed and precision. The construction includes a 15K carbon fiber shaft and HyperCore Blade Technology, enhancing strength and puck feel. Weighing approximately 410 grams, the Vapor League offers a balanced feel, catering to players aiming for performance and longevity in their equipment.
This stick is excellent for passing and shooting. The flex is stiff, so it's for a higher player. The price point for performance is reasonable. I love this curve as it's a mid-range... good for both passing and shooting. I bought the P88 curve, which is no longer available. The closest replacement is the P29 curve.

The Energy Core 3 blade core delivers puck feel and pop, ensuring you stay connected with the puck in all situations.
The Bauer Proto R hockey stick features Bauer's exclusive Boron Fiber technology, which gives players two times the compression strength and two times the stiffness compared to the best carbon fiber on the market. The Proto R also has an X-Stiff Blade, which features dual bridges fused into stiff foam, increasing recoil, stability, and pop. This gives an extra snap to shots from anywhere on the ice.
The CCM Ribcor Trigger 9 hockey stick features an optimized low kickpoint with a softer hosel and upper shaft. The Trigger 9 loads easily for rapid shot release. Its ergonomic “E” geometry enhances energy transfer, while the Pure Carbon shaft construction keeps the stick lightweight yet durable. The Agility blade, reinforced with Sigmatex carbon fiber, delivers excellent puck feel and control without sacrificing power. Ideal for players who thrive on speed, precision, and quick decision-making on the ice.
The Bauer Vapor Hyperlite hockey stick is a lightweight advancement in the Vapor line, designed for quick releases and puck handling. It features ACL technology with high-grade carbon fiber, ensuring durability and responsiveness. The low-kick flex profile and XE Taper design enhance control and facilitate lightning-fast releases.
The Hyperlite has a lighting release. It's amazing for the players who need their shots off as fast as possible. The feel for the puck is perfect. Bauer chose a median weight for the Hyperlite. It's not too heavy and perfectly light.

The CCM Vizion hockey stick features a redesigned top shaft for enhanced comfort, reduced wrist strain, and ALUPLI composite construction for reinforced durability. It has aluminum-plated carbon layers and an ultra-low kickpoint for effortless loading and the quickest release. The ergonomic shaft shape offers control, while the UL1 Blade has a lighter feel.
I’ve been skating with the CCM Vizion for a while now, and it’s hands down one of the snappiest sticks I’ve ever used. The ultra-low kickpoint allows wrist and snap shots to fly off the blade with almost no effort, making them perfect for quick plays in the slot. It feels light and balanced in my hands. I’ve noticed my release is faster and my hands feel quicker compared to my old sticks, though if I’m winding up for a big slapshot, it doesn’t pack quite the same punch as a mid-kick.

The Bauer Nexus 2N Pro XL hockey stick features a mid-kick flex point that balances shot power and quick releases. It includes the R-Lite blade with a dampening layer for better puck feel and control, and its Advanced Carbon Layering system reduces weight while offering great durability. The XL designation indicates an extra-lightweight build, making it perfect for players seeking a well-balanced stick.
This stick is incredibly light, thanks in part to the extra-lightweight build (XL) designation. It makes a huge difference in terms of maneuverability and overall agility on the ice. The mid-kick point offers a good balance between power and quick release. You can unleash powerful slapshots and still have the control for accurate wrist shots. Some players might find the Nexus 2N Pro XL a tad stiff, particularly for puck handling.

The Bauer Nexus 2N Pro hockey stick features a mid-kick flex profile for a balance of power and accuracy. It offers upgrades in performance, weight, and design over the 1N, including the new DuraFlex resin system for increased strength throughout the stick. The 2N Pro also features a R-Lite blade that allows for reduced weight and improved feel.
The Nexus 2N Pro is the latest Bauer Nexus stick to be built with traditional stick geometry, meaning a simple, streamlined shaft transitioning directly into a blade. It's the last of the classic mid-kick sticks. It is one of their best sticks. It is super lightweight and utilizes the best technologies that Bauer has to offer while still giving a classic feel.

The Bauer Nexus Sync hockey stick is the latest top-tier model in the Nexus line, succeeding the Nexus Geo. It features a significant weight reduction thanks to the new ACL 2.0 technology, which uses thinner layers of premium carbon fiber for durability. The stick also incorporates a Bauer exclusive one-piece design that allows for consistent energy flow throughout the stick.
From the spine going down the shaft to the rounded toe of the blade, the Nexus is the most sound stick I've ever used. The recoil of the flex that creates that snap on the puck is profoundly strong and exactly what you should be using if you’re looking for an overall performance increase. It's lightweight and allows an easy transition in every situation.

The CCM Ribcor Trigger 8 hockey stick is a powerhouse designed for lightning-fast releases. Crafted with Advanced Carbon Matrix and Sigmatex spread tow, this stick offers exceptional strength and durability without sacrificing weight. The ergonomic E-Geometry and Skeleton+ taper ensures a seamless energy transfer and reliable performance in crucial moments. With a traditional low kick point and agility blade featuring Peel-Ply technology, the Trigger 8 delivers explosive power and an unparalleled feel.
Best stick since the Z Bubble. I know this statement ages me, but the Tigger 8 is the best stick I've used. It flexes easily and gets the shot off quick. Extremely durable as well. I wish I had a whole stockroom full of them.
