It is the original USSSA banned 2017 CF ZEN with the white cap (not retooled) that was deemed too hot for USSSA events. This bat is new without the plastic wrapping. You can tell from the picture, the bat has not been used.

But they also tended to break, so DeMarini made them stronger, made them stiffer, made them more durable. And when they did that, the bats didn't hit as well. The early models were better performers than the later models.
