This is a game-used and unbroken stick of all-star forward Phil Kessel from the 2015-16 season, his first with the Pittsburgh Penguins after six years with the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's an Easton Synergy HTX stick, a model he switched to in February 2016 before going to Easton CX sticks from the next three years. Kessel had 26 goals and 33 assists for the Penguins in 2015-16 after having two 37-goal years for Toronto in 2011-12 and 2013-1 4.This stick has Kessel's trademark candy-cane taping around the shaft that he started doing around October 2010. The tape partly covers the KESSEL and 81 stamping on the shaft. All original white tape on the blade and knob. He used 65 flex sticks in those days. This one shows decent use and was obtained from a collector who got a batch of Kessel game-used sticks from the Penguins when "Phil The Thrill" was there before he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes in June 2019. Kessel was on two Stanley Cup winning teams while with Pittsburgh, in 2016 and 2017. Kessel has reached the 400 career NHL goals mark. He likely will make the Hall of Fame when he is done playing.
