It has an asymmetrical geometry with finger channels for extreme comfort. The idea behind increasing the size of the top handle was to improve grip strength, torque, and reduce wrist strain on quick shots. Moving down the stick to the shaft, CCM uses an ergonomic shape with different designs in each section - the top-shaft is 5-sided for increased comfort and control; the mid-shaft has a rounded convex back side combined with a round-cornered concave front for maximum dexterity; and the low-shaft has a more pronounced concave front, combining to offer a quick release and maximum accuracy. For the shaft material, you will find the new ALUPLI. This is a metal/carbon hybrid construction consisting of thin aluminum plies mixed with carbon layering. This is applied on the outward layers of the shaft to provide more strength and resilience. The Taper in the Vizion is redesigned with a lower, shorter and more pronounced taper zone than the low-kick Ribcor stick. This shortens the span of the stick that is bending to ensure it recoils faster than before. Now onto the blade, CCM introduces their UL1 (Ultralight) blade; the lightest blade they have ever made. It has regular stiffness, close to a Stiff or X-Stiff blade for Bauer. For materials, you will find Helicoid and Sigma STP. The patented Helicoid layup technology provides superior blade strength and a longer lasting pop. Helicoid technology is a layup structure that angles the carbon layer fibers in smaller increments to increase impact strength. This, combined with the Sigma STP carbon weave, provides quick and precise shooting. This is the first time CCM also offers blade patterns with +1/4. This makes the blade slightly taller to provide more surface area for catching and tipping pucks.
