The Rawlings SG 96 is a 13ish inch outfield pattern from the "Premium Series," a high-quality line manufactured in Japan during the mid-to-late 1980s. While frequently used for softball due to its large size and deep pocket, it was built to the standards of serious baseball utility. Made with full-grain "Premium Leather" in Japan. This series was priced roughly 20% below the price point of the Heart of the Hide line at the time but utilized significantly higher quality materials.
