Best Ping Golf Drivers

From the G400 to the G25, our Ping driver reviews are designed to help you weigh tradeoffs to find the best fit. We collaborate with players and gear experts to review each driver based on accuracy/control (the ability to hit the ball straight and true), forgiveness (the ability to mitigate negative effects of off-center hits), and distance (potential distance with a well-struck shot). Rankings are updated weekly based on SidelineSwap sales data.

Perfect driver for:
Mid-to-high handicappers who want a forgiving driver that helps them bomb the ball further.

Designed for maximum forgiveness, the Ping G425 Max Driver boasts the highest Moment of Inertia ever in a Ping driver. This translates to straighter, longer shots on off-center hits, ideal for golfers seeking more distance and accuracy off the tee. The G425 driver features a lightweight, aerodynamic design for increased clubhead speed and a 26-gram tungsten movable weight for personalized shot shaping.

The Ping G425 Max Driver is all about blasting bombs down the fairway, even on mishits. It's got a forged titanium face designed to increase ball speeds on off-center hits. I love the clean, aerodynamic look at address. Ping incorporated their Dragonfly Technology in the design to make the club lighter and faster swinging, which can help generate more clubhead speed for more yards. They come in a few different loft options, so you can find the right fit for your launch preferences. Overall, if you're a golfer who prioritizes forgiveness and wants to add some serious yardage to your drives, the Ping G425 Max Driver is a top performer.

Perfect driver for:
Mid-to-high handicappers who want a forgiving driver that helps them bomb the ball further.

The Ping G430 Max Driver delivers next-level forgiveness for golfers seeking more distance off the tee. Featuring a refined design with one of the highest MOI ever in a Ping driver, it offers maximum forgiveness on off-center hits for straighter, longer shots. The shallower, thinner VFT forged face with Spinsistency technology aims to generate explosive ball speeds across the face, while a lower centre of gravity promotes a higher launch for longer carry distances.

The Ping G430 Max Driver is a bomber with some serious forgiveness. It's got a large clubhead with a draw bias to help straighten out slices, and a forged titanium face designed to increase ball speeds on off-center hits. I love the clean look and the feel at address, and it even sounds better than previous Ping drivers.

Perfect driver for:
Nostalgic golfers who seek significant confidence at address.

Launched in 2004, the Ping G2 Driver revolutionized the sport with its massive, confidence-inspiring 460cc head size, one of the first commercially successful drivers to do so. This innovation, coupled with internal weighting for a lower center of gravity and more distance, made the G2 Driver immensely forgiving on off-center hits. The G2's focus on forgiveness and performance gains over previous drivers, along with its success on professional tours, propelled it to become one of the most popular golf drivers of all time, excelling in both distance and accuracy for a wide range of golfers.

The Ping G2 Driver is for those seeking a classic feel with surprising forgiveness. While definitely not the latest and greatest, it's a sleeper for golfers who prioritize control over raw distance. The G2 has a forged titanium face and is known for its crisp feel at impact, and it provides more feedback than some modern drivers. It won't be the longest driver out there, and won't have fancy adjustability features. But for golfers who value a timeless design that still holds its own, the Ping G2 Driver is a great option, especially at the used prices you can find these days.

Perfect driver for:
Golfers who want a forgiving driver with the ability to personalize their ball flight.

Designed for golfers seeking more distance and adjustability, the Ping G410 Plus Driver (released in 2019) combines forgiveness with custom performance. Featuring a movable weight technology, it allows golfers to fine-tune their launch conditions and shot shape for a draw or fade bias. The driver’s internal dragonfly technology and ultra-thin crown aim to maximize clubhead speed for a longer distance, while the turbulators on the crown reduce drag for a smooth swing.

The Ping G410 Plus Driver is a sleeper for golfers seeking distance and forgiveness. While it’s not be the latest Ping model on the market, it’s a great preformer. It features a movable weight that lets you customize the ball flight, and an adjustable hosel for loft and lie options. If you're looking for a forgiving driver, the Ping G410 Plus Driver is a great choice, especially at the price point you can find it at these days.

Perfect driver for:
Players who want to customize their swing weight and fine-tune launch conditions.

The G400 drivers feature a streamlined design for enhanced aerodynamics and stability. The multi-material construction combines reduced drag with a thinner, stronger T9S+ forged face, resulting in increased speed and distance. The Dragonfly technology helps maintain a higher MOI of over 9,000, combined with a deep CG, the G400 drivers offer exceptional accuracy and tighter dispersion.

The Ping G400 is like upgrading from economy to first-class. It takes the great things about the G series and cranks them up a notch. These clubs feature a unique "barren" crown design and incorporate Ping's Powerfoil Technology. They're particularly effective for players with slower swing speeds, providing a boost in both distance and accuracy. Their combination of forgiveness and performance makes them an excellent choice for a wide range of golfers, especially those transitioning from older models. One of my favorite choices.

Distance
Perfect driver for:
Players who want to hit the ball farther and experience more consistent distance, even on mishits.

The Ping G30 Driver is one of Ping’s best-selling drivers and the seventh edition in the Ping G series. Most notable to the G30 are the crown turbulators, which are aerodynamic fins that sit on the crown of the club to smooth the airflow and increase club head speed. Another upgrade is the adjustable hosel, which has doubled the number of loft options to fine-tune trajectory. The high-strength T9S Titanium Face is engineered to increase ball speeds, while the center of gravity is positioned low and deep, increasing the moment of inertia.

The turbulators built into the crown reduce drag to produce and generate faster clubhead speed. The result? Distance gains! A very low CG optimizes the launch and height MOI for extreme forgiveness and stability. The light titanium face will increase the distance as well. The adjustable hosel is easy to work with for your desired trajectory. The thin crown walls stabilize the sound, making it a very pleasant hit off the tee. Golfers will have an easy time finding the fairway with this driver.

Perfect driver for:
Both beginner and experienced players who need to improve their speed, distance, and forgiveness.

The Ping G Drivers feature Dragonfly Technology, inspired by the dragonfly's wing pattern, to create ultra-thin crown sections for exceptional CG and MOI. This innovative design, combined with Vortec Technology, turbulators, and a strong T9S face, delivers increased speed, distance, and forgiveness, making the Ping G Drivers a top choice for golfers seeking optimal performance.

If you’re searching for a driver that brings balance to the force (and your swing), the Ping G drivers are your weapon of choice. These beauties strike a nice harmony between forgiveness and control, so whether you’re just getting started or already have some skills, they’ve got you covered. Ping’s tech like Dragonfly and Tungsten Toptank keeps things fresh, and while they may not blow you away in any one category, their all-around performance makes them a trusty companion for anyone looking for a reliable driver that delivers consistency.

Perfect driver for:
Golfers who slice or struggle to get the ball airborne.

Ping's G Series golf clubs have proved extremely popular among mid- and high-handicappers due to their extreme forgiveness and easy playability. And the Ping G15 Driver is no exception. Released in 2009, it was a game-changer for golfers seeking an easy launch off the tee. It features a seven percent larger face than the G10 model. A larger face coupled with the External Sole Weight Pad means it's more forgiving and lower-spinning, so even better players can take advantage. It has an innovative ultra-thin crown and feels good almost anywhere you hit it, which is a plus for the average golfer who needs to play more to strike the ball perfectly every time.

The Ping G15 driver is a classic for a reason. While definitely not the newest driver on the market, it's a great choice for those who prioritize control and a clean feel over raw distance. The G15 has a smaller, 440cc clubhead compared to today's drivers, but that translates to more precise shot shaping and better workability for skilled golfers. The forged titanium face has a crisp feel at impact, and provides more feedback than some modern drivers.
