Bat Benefits Slugger got after it when designing the barrel that would make up this two-piece, all-composite bat. And the result of their engineering tenacity is the new Mash Composite Design. The Mash barrel will come with a gapped wall design that is composed of both an inner and outer barrel that will work together to produce top results. For Slugger’s gapped design, the size of the spacing between the inner and outer barrel will be large. As well, that spacing will be consistent throughout the entire hitting surface of this bat. That should help create top performance along the entire length of the bat’s barrel. The innovation didn’t stop with the barrel! The VTX connection point will bring back all the benefits of its predecessor (the VCX), but the visual of the connection piece will be improved as it has a new “lattice” look to it.
