The biggest upgrade in this stick is the use of the element Boron. This material has never been used in a hockey stick before. What makes boron so unique for a hockey stick is that it has two times the compression strength and two times the stiffness compared to the best carbon fiber in the world. When you have two times the compression strength and two times the stiffness, Bauer needed to strategically place this material within the stick to reduce the weight without doing anything to the durability of the product. The Boron fibers are fused with high-grade carbon fiber to create that strength. The XE taper, which is passed down from the Vapor line is a taper design that uses a unique elliptical geometry with a thinner construction and more rounded edges.
