These skates have a removable toe cap which adds 1/2 size to the skate.
For sizing they are a split size as they have a foam insert in the toe region that can be removed. To give an example on this pair of 5/5.5 they will fit to a size 5 with the foam insert in the toes but with that insert removed they will fit to a size 5.5, this is a great option for someone with a half size difference in feet where they can have the feeling of a 5 on one foot and a 5.5 on the other.
That is why the size tag on the inside of the skates is marked up to a size 5.5.
