The CCM Tacks 9040 is an affordable choice for beginner and recreational hockey players, featuring a comfortable injected mesh boot and non-replaceable stainless steel blades that come pre-sharpened. However, this makes it less ideal for everyday use. In contrast, the Bauer Supreme M5 Pro is designed for more experienced players, offering a lightweight, supportive Carbon Curv composite boot that provides a custom fit and maximizes power during strides. These skates also feature a "Choose Your Steel" option for personalized blade selection.

What people are saying about the M4:

👍 Pros
Fits like a glove. The comfort alone gives me the confidence to skate better. As a new player, I'm excited to lace up.
This skate is light, and the inner cushion is very comfortable. If you have flat feet, be sure to get insoles, they are a game changer.
Absolutely love them, perfect for flat feet and wide ankles. Very responsive to the ice and they fit like a glove.
👎 Cons
The inside of the boots and lining are wearing out after only 3 months of skating twice a week.
These skates have cheap laces that will not hold up or hold tight. If you buy these skates, plan on buying new laces.
These skates are very heavy and hurt my feet. Not sure if it was a preference thing but the M4's were not for me.
