They feature a quick and easy 4-strap velcro attachment system that makes putting them on and taking them off a breeze. They are also adjustable so that they can be properly fitted and they can be adjusted as they grow. Externally, the Prodigy 3.0 leg pad features a durable synthetic leather that not only looks authentic like the pads in the NHL but it will be resistant to abrasions too. The bottom of the pad has been upgraded with the RP toe straps that use simple velcro to fasten or secure itself to the skate, instead of a tradition lace that would need to be tied. The opening of the blocker itself has been upgraded for a more secure fit around the wrist without limiting mobility or creating gaps in protection. Bauer built this 3.0 to make it easy to use right out of the box so there is no break-in time. The Prodigy 3.0 catcher has a single-t pocket construction that uses durable nylon webbing to help catch and keep pucks in the glove. The soft leather and nylon liner help to wick away moisture and helps to provide a secure lock on the puck once it is in the single-t pocket. The flared cuff allows the goalie use their full range of motion in their wrists without sacrificing protection. We were very happy with the gear, but of course he has grown out of Jr. and is in Youth size now. All the gear is in nice condition with no tears, broken straps or parts. The pads go on very easily with super strong velcro. The set cost about $300 new. Lets Go Islanders!
