Bauer Hyperlite Goalie Full Set

The Bauer Vapor Hyperlite goalie set represents an advancement in weight reduction for Bauer's premium equipment. Succeeding the 2X Pro line, the Hyperlite series focuses on lightweight construction for enhanced agility and quicker reactions. It signifies a new era in goalie pad design, prioritizing mobility over bulk. Although it was the top-of-the-line at its launch, Bauer has since released the Hyperlite 2 and Ultrasonic line as their current flagship goalie equipment.

Perfect set for:
goalies who prioritize a lightweight setup and freedom of movement.

Key features include:

Upgraded C.O.R Tech PlusA highly durable skin that creates better rebounds and gives goaltenders time to react and recover.
Internal Rebound Boost CoreThe leg pads feature a Curv Composite thigh rise which creates a sturdy yet flexible build.
Tune Fit 2.0 Strapping SystemWorks with Velcro attachments strategically placed to give the best fit possible for any type of goaltender.
A One-Piece CuffThe glove features a naturally large appearance for better visual presentation to the shooter. It has a 60-degree pocket and closure.
A Double-T PocketA design that creates a wider glove pocket than the single-T as seen on the 2X Pro Glove.
14.5” Connekt+ PalmThis blocker is built to give the goaltender a better feel when handling their stick, borrowing tech from their renowned player gloves where the feel of the stick is a top-level priority.
Asymmetrical Aerolite CuffKeeps the entire blocker at a very low weight while allowing goaltenders the physical freedom to reach out toward pucks.

Top Competitors

The Hyperlite boasts the latest technology for maximum mobility and rebound control, making it ideal for agile goalies who like a close fit. The Ultrasonic offers a similar feature set but with a stiffer feel, better suited for goalies seeking a more stable platform for powerful movements. CCM's Extreme Flex 5 stands out for its flexibility, perfect for butterfly slides and reactionary saves, but may sacrifice some stability compared to the Bauer options.

Progression of the Bauer Hyperlite Goalie Full Set

The Hyperlite line follows the Bauer Vapor 1X and 2X pad. Here are key upgrades:

Bauer Vapor 1X upgrades:
  • Offers more of a flex design when compared to its predecessors.
  • Built using Bauer’s C.O.R.TECH SKIN technology, a component advertised as sliding 50% better than their Bauer Reactor pads.
Bauer Vapor 2X and 2X Pro upgrades:
  • Adjustable outer knee flap which can be taken off entirely
  • A bindingless design to the knee wing, allowing for faster sliding
  • New blocker with reduced weight and added performance
  • Offset T design in the glove for easy closure and visibility
Bauer Vapor Hyperlite upgrades
  • C.O.R Tech Plus for the pad construction material
  • Increased flex zone throughout the thigh, built using Bauer’s Curv technology
  • Upgraded knee stack, using Stabiliflex Knee Block (same knee block system used on the Bauer Ultrasonic pads)
👍 Pros
If you want a pad with an S-curve for sealing the 5-hole, go with the Hperlite.
It's a super flexible and soft pad with double breaks above and below. For the price, I love this set.
I’m obsessed with my Hyperlites. I can't say enough good things about them. I love the glove, particularly the adhesive grip liner. My saves are super smooth.
👎 Cons
Not as durable as my Brians sets. These are lightweight and comfortable but didn't last more than a season of hard play.
My skates are rubbing the pad finish away and my pads are starting to peel.
Favorite pad hands down. They probably won’t last very long playing a dozen times per week.
Just like with the Ultrasonic, how it has an integrated knee block to the core (which looks like a book and is attached to the inside of the pad), they made the same thing for the Hyperlite, but a little bit softer and a little bit more forgiving, this design is known as the Vapor Stabiliflex. The glove and blocker are also incredibly light, well broken in, and durable. Many professional players jumped into the Ultrasonic, but if they felt it was too stiff, they switched to a Hyperlite.
