I used this bat for a season in a half before I grew out of it. No actual damage to it except for a scratch or chip of the paint. I did change the grip and I couldn't get the grip over the knob so I used electrical tape but it does the job. It does have pine tar on it but I'm sure it won't be hard to get off if you don't want it. No rattles either and still has LOTS of pop.
