The BM271Y is a safe choice for any youth hitter. Just like it's big brother, the BM271, it rocks a medium barrel as well as a long, gradually tapered handle that transitions into a flared knob. Due to it's balanced nature, it always feels "swingable" for the youngsters. The BM271Y typically weighs in around -8/-9. We recommend that you order the same length that your little slugger would use with a metal baseball bat. Before we even apply a finish, we thoroughly check all of our bats for cracks, imperfections, and unsightly grains, but sometimes a piece of wood can be defective internally. For that, we've got you covered We cannot, however, offer a warranty for mishits or misuse. This includes hitting the ball outside of the hitting area, hitting on the back or front side of the bat, hitting anything other than real baseballs, or slamming the bat on any surface. If you feel that your bat has broken as a result of a manufacturing defect (and not a result of the above conditions), feel free to contact us. You can either send us the bat for inspection or provide us with detailed images of the bat and we will go from there. If the bat is in fact defective, we will cover it under our warranty.
