The Cat9 is an aluminum, one piece, balanced bat. This bat was bought new in 2021, used by my son on 12U that year, and hasn't been used since. He's on the small side and not a power hitter so I believe this bat has plenty of life left. That being said he had his best hitting season ever with this bat and absolutely loved it. Only reason he didn't keep using it is because he had to move up to a -8 bat for 13U. There are cosmetic scratches and usual scuffs from hitting but otherwise it's good. There is also a custom stencil on it that I added to help him keep track of it, sinsce most the boys on his team also had Cat9s.

Perfect bat for:
Players who are looking to elevate their game with balance, power, and performance.

The Marucci CAT 9 features a single piece of aluminum with multivariable wall thickness, extending the sweet spot and reducing swing weight. The CAT9 features a Ring-free barrel which allows for more flex within the barrel and minimizes dead spots through the bat. This model includes new technologies like the AV2 knob to dampen sting on mishits and is available in BBCOR, USSSA, and USA versions.

My son really likes the CAT9. He likes the weight distribution and how it feels when he catches it clean with his “A” swing. He also feels like there’s a margin for error on his “B/C” swings. It’s his first BBCOR, which has helped make the transition to the big field manageable.
