Folks of a certain age will remember Montgomery Ward. It was a mail order business first and then became a department store chain that competed with Sears. This glove is a Wards Hawthorne glove that was sold at these department stores in the 1960s. I picked this one up on Facebook Marketplace and it was in remarkably good condition. With some cleaning, conditioning, oil, new tan Rawlings leather laces, and some mallet work, it literally returned to life. Honestly, I almost kept it but it's too small and none of my kids are lefty. So if you have a kid who needs a glove and also appreciates a little history, this is perfect!
