Tail Width: 116 mm. Turning Radius: 17.7 m Made in Germany Why does Völkl have two different skis in the super popular 100 mm class? The Völkl 90 Eight Skis are a lighter and more playful alternative to the hard-charging Mantras that have dominated the top tier of ski tests for years, and offer a better platform for moderate skiers who still like precision in their turns. With no metal in the construction and a bit of camber underfoot, the 90Eights provide firm edgehold on harder snow while lending an extremely "connected" and lively feel. If you're the type of skier who prefers clean and elegant turns to the balls-to-the-wall approach but don't want to give up precision, give the 90 Eight a try. These are some of the best all mountain skis you can buy!! Product Details Rocker Type Freeski Tip and Tail Rocker – Makes the ski turn-friendly and allows for a stiffer flex setup. Only the shovel and tail zones bend upwards, with traditional cambering in the middle for pop. Shape 3D.Ridge Technology – Völkl's revolutionary 3D.Ridge construction features a distinctive ridge down the center of the ski that bevels out to a very thin edge both in front of and to the rear of the binding. This significantly reduces inertial mass at the perimeter of the ski, increasing agility. Moderate Tip & Tail Taper Core Multi-Layer Wood Core – Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance. Laminates Tough Box Construction – Völkl protects the goods (in this case the Multi Layer Wood Core) with a composite and fiberglass sheath for resilience, durability and snap. Sidewalls Full Sidewall – Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls. Base P-Tex 2100 Base – A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
