Bought this brand new 2 years ago for my young son, who used it maybe 6-8 times in practices. The shaft is still basically new (look at the head screw picture -- not a scratch). There are virtually no marks at all on the shaft. I'll throw in the Epoch butt cap (and the head screw).
For folks wondering about the Dragonfly, here's my 2 cents:
1\ the shaft is very light, and has decent kick. IQ9 is really a good choice for someone <14-15 years old. The flex will give them a decent extra kick. Anyone much older/stronger might find it too whippy.
2\ torque stiffness is good, meaning, good control, despite the whippiness.
3\ the X30 shape is great if you play with the shaft in your fingers (which arguably you should do, especially for attack players, like my son). If you tend to grip the shaft with palm more than fingers, the X30 takes some adjusting to.
