New old stock, never strung. This is the head that put Debeer (the company that eventually became Gait and the same company that then died and is currently being resurrected) on the map for most elder millennials. The wavy sidewall design is as eye-catching as it is polarizing. The easy offset of the head —built into the bottom of the throat, as opposed to the Edge where the offset is connected to the head design— seemed like a workaround, but it produced a unique feel when paired with the trapezoidal face shape. Other companies like Mohawk INT Lacrosse borrowed that technique whole cloth and produced similar looking heads, but nothing really compared to the bombast of the Shockwave. A non-offset version called the Aftershock was popular with draw men of the time, but the Shockwave really caught on with the boxla crowd, which is no surprise since Paul Gait, who was still tearing up the NLL at that time, designed it. The Shockwave was weird and awesome, but more importantly it put Debeer (Gait) on the map.
