The original, first-generation ECD Mirage Lacrosse Head was released in 2016 as East Coast Dyes' very first proprietary field head. Built entirely in the USA specifically for stringers, it focused heavily on providing an optimized pocket channel. Original Mirage Specs Weight: 4.5 ounces, making it incredibly light for its generation compared to contemporary heads that typically sat between 4.8 and 5.3 ounces. Face Shape: High-pinch, narrow face profile with an aggressive flare point near the top. This design maximizes ball control during dodges but narrows down the catching surface slightly. Sidewall Profile: Standard configuration with 18 stringing holes down the rail. The top three holes were intentionally oversized to easily accommodate multiple loops or thick sidewall strings. Bottom Rail: Optimized specifically for a mid-pocket setup, which gives outside step-down shooters a clean vertical channel, maximum hold, and consistent whip. Offset: A relaxed, gradual forward offset profile designed to maximize ball feel and encourage a naturally deeper bag. Top Scoop: Six well-spaced top string holes engineered perfectly to fit a traditional 9-diamond top string arrangement.
