The Bauer Vapor X2.7 hockey skates are a great option for the weekly player who is looking for good comfort and performance at an excellent value. Low-profile design for an enhanced fit COMFORTFLEX System for an improved feel One piece 3D Polycarb quarter for more flexibility Memory foam padding for added support Microfiber liner for good comfort Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder for improved striding When purchasing a new pair of hockey skates, it is important to focus on fit. If you’re unsure which skate line and model fits your foot best, or if you’re looking for an accurate measurement and assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey. The X2.7 offers a low-profile design, ideal for the players with low-volume foot dimensions. This design is enhanced through Bauer’s COMFORTFLEX System, offering an improved overall feel by using some good technologies. A key feature in the Vapor X2.7 is the One piece 3D Polycarb quarter package. This construction offers a good fit in the ankle and heel to secure your foot without sacrificing comfort, while also providing more flexibility and a lightweight feel. Inside the boot, Bauer combines memory foam padding with a Microfiber liner. The memory foam is strategically placed in the ankle area to wrap the foot in quality comfort, while the liner provides good support and some added comfort as well throughout the hockey skate. At the bottom of the boot is Bauer’s Form Fit footbed for good support and the feel you’re looking for. And at the top of the skate, a 40-oz. two-piece tongue with an injected metatarsal guard offers even more comfort, protection, and added flexibility which will help enhance your agility on the ice. The X2.7 includes the top-of-the-line Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder. This holder includes a trigger system which makes switching out a damaged or broken blade quick and easy. Simply pull the trigger on the holder to unlock the blade, them remove it with your hand (using a towel as a buffer), pliers, or the Bauer-provided tool. Insert your new blade until it clicks into place to complete the switch. And because the trigger system secures the blade into the holder, your energy transfer from the boot, through the holder, and into the runner will be maximized for enhanced striding. Attached to the holder is Bauer’s S stainless steel, offering good blade durability for this price point. While there are certainly benefits to purchasing a higher-end model, especially if you’re looking for more technologies to help your performance, the Bauer Vapor X2.7 skates still offer quality features that will give you the comfort and flexibility you need.

The Bauer Vapor X2.7 hockey skate is designed for competitive players who value comfort and performance. It features a one-piece 3D Polycarb quarter for a snug fit, enhanced by the Comfort Flex system. Memory foam ankle padding and a microfiber liner offer added comfort, while the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder enables easy blade swapping. This low-volume skate is responsive, making it ideal for agile players, and provides a good balance of features and affordability.

I've had these many times; it's a mid-tier, performance-level skate where you can undoubtedly play a few seasons (probably not in the NHL), but in University, high-level competitive play. The X2.7 has a quick-release holder, and the Vapor fit will be a bit lower, snug, and flexible. The top-level pro-Vapors might last you three years, whereas these might last one and a half two years, but it's the same kind of comfort. It just comes down to your abilities.
