The liner provides good support, a soft feel, and moisture-management properties to help wick sweat away and keep your foot secured in the boot. And the footbed is lined with memory foam underneath for true comfort as soon as you step into the skate. This model also includes a two-piece, 48-oz. felt tongue injected with a metatarsal guard for solid protection, comfort, and good flexibility when skating. Like the top-of-the-line Vapor Hyperlite, the X2.9 includes the Tuuk Lightspeed EDGE holder. This holder system offers performance benefits and an easy-to-use mechanism that allows you to switch a damaged or broken blade out quickly. Simply pull the trigger on the holder to unlock the blade, them remove it with your hand (using a towel as a buffer), pliers, or the Bauer-provided tool. Insert your new blade until it clicks into place, and you’ll be back on the ice without missing a shift. And because the trigger system locks the new blade in place, energy transfer from the boot to the blade will be maximized with every stride.
