My use: Heavily used and tucked my tongue. Straps are in good condition. They just look like they've been through it. I bought these a few years ago and they have always felt about an inch bigger than I needed. But never the less they did their job. I bought them looking rough and they've been completely fine for the last 3 years. If I had a guess they are 5-6 yrs old. Washed the padding every quarterly. Kept inside. Aired out every game. Bag and closet kept if not aired out or playing.
If you don't care about looks these things are perfect for armor. I've taken clappers at the knee beds, I've been slashed to hard, hacked on the calf and kicked everywhere with these things on and barely feel a thing more than a thump. I just replaced them with a smaller set and wanting to pass on the legacy of these shins to another swapper.
Previous owners: Heavily used. Everything works fine. Straps are strong and still sticky. I tuck my tounge to my skates into my shin pads which is why the bottom padding is worn through. Don’t effect performance in my opinion
