Description

The CCM FitLite FL90 helmet comes in a two-piece, PE, high-density pro shell, similar to the shell in the top-end 3DS helmet. It looks great and has several air vents for good air flow and cool comfort. The FL90 is adjustable in a couple of ways. The helmet includes a dual tool-less system with clips at either temple for expanding or contracting the shell. Once the helmet feels good front-to-back, players can fine-tune the fit with CCM’s signature Micro-dial adjustment system for a perfect occipital lock. Skaters with any head profile should be able to achieve a perfect fit when using this multi-point adjustment system for a 360° wrap. The liner features D3O temple pads—the most protective foam CCM uses in any of its hockey equipment, not just the helmets. D3O is a rate-sensitive foam which stiffens according to impact intensity for elite-level protection at the temples. The FL90 helmet comes with CCM’s I.Q.Shion liner that debuted in the Tacks line. It’s a soft, open-cell material that helps wick moisture and provides excellent comfort. The liner base includes two foams. First, a dual-density VN foam offers a traditional, classic fit and feel for soft comfort. Second, a base layer of high-density foam in the helmet helps manage high impacts. The big addition to the interior of the FL90 is CCM’s Hexagon Matrix padding. This uniquely styled base layer offers a first line of impact defense and absorption, particularly when working in tandem with the other protection technologies in the helmet.
