👍 Pros
---
The padding has held up extremely well. I took a puck to the head and received a few good hits where I hit my head along the boards. I did not feel the impact from either.
It feels like a pro helmet. It is low profile, light, and comfortable, and it is a great fit for an oval or round head.
The tool-less adjustment is easy and works smoothly, yet doesn't move while playing.
👎 Cons
---
The padding is starting to stiffen up a bit, though that could be how I store the helmet when I'm not wearing it.
This helmet fits large. I normally wear a size M, and its smallest adjustment setting is too large for me.
The front and back shell move and shift a lot. Not just a millimeter, but almost a half centimeter both ways.
The Vector V08 is a solid choice for the budget-conscious player who doesn't want to sacrifice protection but still wants that NHL look. It's got dual-density foam that does a good job of absorbing impacts. The V08 is comfortable right out of the box and the adjustment system is simple to use. It's definitely a reliable option for recreational players or those just starting out. You're getting a good balance of safety and comfort without the high price tag.
