The FL80 utlizes CCM's revolutionary R.E.D (Rotational Energy Dampening) System to provide unmahced protection from rotational impacts to the head. The R.E.D. System is comprised of liquid-filled bladders placed strategically in the helmet, which allow the helmet to reduce head rotation, thus reducing the risk of brain rotation. The R.E.D. system is not the only technology CCM has incorporated into the FL80, though. Solid EPP foam with Lycra laminated comfort cushions embedded within allow for you to have great impact dispersal combined with the comfort of soft foam.
