After checking with the historians at Brown equipment (recently having closed their doors unfortunately), these pads come from their "legends" series. They were made in the late 1980s for older players used to smaller pads.
I wore them for a few beer league games and actually did pretty well (and I'm 6'2"). They're light, the hardware is in good shape, and they look cool if you're into vintage stuff. They're also an eye opener for players who have never seen older pads. Might be worth the purchase just for the looks on your teammates faces!
