29+1 Navy/White/Red Starting off with the face and graphic of the CCM Extreme Flex 4.9 Intermediate Goalie Leg Pad, CCM has used a traditional flat knee roll as part of their visual design. On the graphic, the CCM EF4.9 has created a new visual look that utilizes triangle shaped large color areas, a long color zone to break up the outer edges and inside color zones and then three long triangle accent streaks which contains rippled lining throughout these three zones to create a shadowing effect. Throughout the pad, you will find CCM’s proprietary “SpeedSkin” synthetic stamped material that creates a new level for style and function. It is designed to perform the best out of all materials offered and is meant to increase the ease of sliding and glide that a goalie needs during use. Continuing the build of the pad, the CCM EF4.9 Intermediate has new DuaLiteCore Technology which promotes torsional flex to maximize movement on the goalie’s feet and works together with a reinforced stiffer thigh rise to create a better seal and coverage on the ice. The CCM Extreme Flex 4.9 Intermediate stock comes with a single outer break and a pre-curved single inner break core to help close the goalies 5 hole. CCM EF4.9’s new 90 Degree Ultra Soft boot allows the goalie to get into a deep stance and load up for powerful pushes without the pad fighting against the goaltenders leg. The construction of the shin and boot on the CCM EF4.9 allows for the pad to give a spring like flex during play to work with the deep and natural movements of the goaltender. Moving on to the outer gusset of the pad, the CCM EF4.9 Intermediate uses a thinner profile on the top of the pad in the thigh and knee area to allow the pad to hug the leg and sit closer to the body, not only in the stance but down in the butterfly as well. Down to the knee channel, there is a new adjustable and removable outer knee cradle wrap that can be moved up or down. The outer knee wrap is set on Velcro slots that allow the goalie to completely remove this wrap, if they want to angle down their knee strap. At the knee block, the EF4.9 knee raiser uses 3D Grip and PE Foam (Polyethylene) which is a durable, lightweight, and resilient material to provide a softer landing that is less stressful on the goaltender’s knees.
