The feel you have come to know and love is combined with reduced weight and modern features to give you the best of both worlds.
First thing you will notice on the pads is the new updated graphic. This sharp, clean graphic looks great in a variety of colorways, and on the custom side gives you plenty of options to work with. Other clear changes in appearance are visible on the back side of the pad with a completely redesigned strapping system.
The biggest change on the straps is going to be the complete elimination of traditional leather and metal buckles. The most revolutionary of straps is going to be the new magnetic buckle quick attach system seen on the calf and the boot. This new strapping design uses magnets that will grab the buckle quickly and effectively making strapping on the pads effortless. And due to the popularity of the RRC strap Vaughn has continued the use of it on the VE8 Pro Carbon, but changed it to a velcro system instead of magnet and made it completely removeable if you choose to remove it. The rest of the pad utilizes Velcro strapping on the knee cradle and calf wrap.
Another update to the pads is the thinned out outer gusset which will reduce weight while retaining strength due to updated foams and carbon enhanced performance. The stock pad will be Single external break below the knee with a flexible pro core internal.”
