Now about the pads Like its predecessor, the LT58 Ventus youth leg pad is designed for both skilled youth goaltenders, whose game demands a pad with more advanced features, and beginning youth goalies who are looking for a pad that can keep up as his/her skill level increases. The pad features a flat-faced front and a solid internal foam core that provides a rigid blocking surface. The outer roll has a single break in it to allow for some flexibility. Despite only having a single break, dual knee flex points above and below the knee joint make the pad very flexible, which is a necessity for younger goalies. The inside edge is wide to provide great balance while going down into the butterfly position. Additionally, the inner edge is even wider at the knee area to give the goalie a very stable landing platform when dropping into the butterfly. In addition to several nylon & clip straps that keep the pad secured to the leg, the LT58 also has a knee lock strap to help customize the fit even further. The full knee and leg cradles, with outer calf and knee wing padding, serve to protect the goalie’s entire leg, provide comfort and increase the rotational capacity of the pad. An attached thigh guard also comes standard, optimizing the protective quality the LT58 has to offer to little goalies.
