Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Pro Carbon Chest & Arm Protector – Special Edition

Worn twice in practice only. Son couldn’t get used to the new gear and decided to go back to his old chest protector. One of the most popular choices in the NHL is the Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Pro Carbon Chest & Arm Protector. The Ventus SLR3 Chest Protector is the continuation of the Vaughn Epic Chest Protector series. The Epic was one of the most popular chest protectors Vaughn had ever made and the SLR3 Ventus Chest Protector is the modern version of that series. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Pro Carbon Senior Chest Protector series is built for the coverage style or butterfly style goalie that likes the shoulders to be a little larger. The Ventus SLR3 Pro Carbon chest protector was built with large, squared shoulder floaters that maximize shoulder width in the net. Although the shoulders are larger, the arms still have a great range of motion compared to other coverage style chest protectors. Vaughn also added a second layer of protection built underneath the shoulder floaters, this second layer is velcro’d in and can easily be taken out or put back in. Some goalies love to have this added layer in practice for additional protection and take it out in games for added flexibility. New for 2022, Vaughn has added adjustable length arms on the Ventus SLR3 Pro Carbon Chest and Arm Protector. This will only be available only on the Pro Carbon version and not the Pro version. The SLR3 Chest & Arm protector also uses higher density foams with carbon reinforcement for better coverage and better overall protection. The arms (forearm and bicep) have added reinforcement compared to previous generations of the SLR’s. The forearm and bicep area will also have additional wrap around protection that has not been available on Vaughn chest & arm protectors in the past. The sternum area now uses the Pure Composite foam that Vaughn started using in the Velocity V9 series. The Pure Composite foam is a composite injected foam that is incredibly light and extremely protective, Also new for 2022 is a new dual strap system in the back area which allows for greater customization for every individual goalie fitting needs.
