These have higher level of protection that the modern ones as they also have flat plastic padding OVER the smaller foam segments and the palm leather is REAL leather that allows you to feel the stick. If you can find these in a smaller size in this condition (in size 13 in black or same color combo) message me and I'll pay you a finders fee. I purchased these but needed a smaller size.
