These Excellent Condition JOFA Hockey Gloves 1600 ASD JDP Flex 13 Inch Cuff are a vintage, top-tier partial leather glove model from the early 2000s, known for their advanced protective technologies and classic, durable construction. These gloves have no tears, rips, or abrasions and the leather palms are in excellent condition. All of the stitching is completely intact. Leather conditioning lotion has been used on the leather palms on a regular basis to clean and reinvigorate the leather. The leather palms are supple. I am the original owner of these Vintage JOFA hockey gloves. Key Features and Technology These gloves were part of Jofa's high-end offerings, utilizing proprietary technology that was considered cutting-edge at the time. · Anatomic System Design (ASD): This technology focused on a fit that contoured to the hand, providing protection while maintaining mobility. The goal was a natural, comfortable feel that offered high performance. · JDP (Joint Discharge Principle) Technology: Common in Jofa's protective gear, JDP design helped to disperse impact energy away from vulnerable joints. In the gloves, this would likely translate to enhanced protection in the finger and backhand areas. · Flex Cuff: The flexible mid-cuff design was a notable feature, allowing for a better range of motion in the wrist without sacrificing essential protection in the slash area. · Genuine Leather Construction: The use of genuine leather in key components of the gloves (especially in the palm area) was prized for its exceptional durability and the way it would form a custom fit over time. Modern gloves typically use synthetic materials, which break in faster but may not last as long. · Split Fingers: The fingers were designed with a split construction to facilitate easier break-in and increased dexterity.
