Club faces, and the heads as a whole are fantastic for being about 10+ years old now and look only lightly played, perhaps 2 light seasons tops….. i can account for one par 3 nine hole round myself. Some light superficial scratching on the soles of the club head and still show that great mirrored black pearl finish! These clubs feel incredible, are course ready and truthfully I was on the fence about keeping them but im still rather fond of my Mizuno mp-60s s300 so a re shafting and regripping for me personally, doesn’t make much sense when these are course ready for you. Unfortunately my brothers are both lefties so i don’t see them getting used…. At least anytime soon. You can expect the type of crisp clean and responsive ball strikes and shape ability you’d expect from a club head like this. With the club heads being Carbon Metal Matrix composition, you can expect reduced vibration on ball impact, further translating to both lessened fatigue, increased shape-ability/response and ultimately lower scores on your next round! While the micro-milled faces don’t comply with the dreaded USGA “2010 groove rule” (at this point in time) to the best of my knowledge, they are protected under local rule compliance so unless you’re going for leaderboard points on tour, do you really even care?!? Thanks to Cleveland’s micro milled face technology, you can expect about a 50% reduction in shot dispersion, if you’re into all that science. A more squared toe gives the entire club a nice balanced feel and will aid the types of players looking for a blade the confidence in getting a nice launch and trajectory on all of their shots. While these are muscle-backs, they are still technically blades so don’t expect the forgiveness of a starter set or a higher handicap set (like the R7 XDs i also have listed for example!) Aside from playability, these clubs look so pretty on ball address. With a razor thin top line, you can save yourself 10 minutes in the morning and shave your whiskers with your basically brand new 3 iron on the first tee-box if you so desired, so lets not avoid the elephant in the room, more time on the course translates to more smiles, right!? The set is shafted in Dynamic Gold SL R300 shafts and gripped with Golf Pride BCT Tour Velvet corded grips, the best of the best if you ask me.
