Classic set of Orlimar forged blades. This was from the early Ortiz days at Orlimar when they were launching as a pro line brand. The set is 3 iron through sand wedge. The pitching wedge is the custom model 52 degree wedge, but the rest of the set has had the lofts adjusted to match. For example, the sand wedge is 57 degrees (what Nicklaus used to carry instead of a separate sand and lob wedge), and working up through the set the 3 iron is about 22 degrees, and the lie angles are about 1 degree upright with everything measured on my old Scotland loft/lie machine. Today's machines might measure them slightly differently, but the bottom line is they're pretty close to what used to be called "traditional standard" specs. Shafts are Dynamic Gold S300's, and the grips are the GolfPride Tour Wraps. Pretty standard fare for clubs of this vintage. Very playable set for the good player. The slightly weaker lofts get some height and carry on today's low spin golf balls. The 3 iron is actually useable, and the wedges will hold greens (unlike many of today's super strong lofted irons). Loved these back in the day when I was playing to around a 2-3 handicap, but old age and health conditions offset the nostalgia, and they need to find a home of someone who can appreciate these classics. See the photos for the condition. Good overall, but lots of bag chatter as one expects from older forged heads. Faces are clean, no "browning", and I've included closeups for the two wedges as those clubs tend to get the most wear. I've also included a set of the similar vintage Orlimar laminated Maple aerodynamic woods. They are REALLY clean. There's a driver, 3 wood, and 5 wood. Shafts are the period Aldila HM30 Superlite graphites. There's no marking indicating flex on these shafts. It's probably under the grip, but didn't want to cut them off because they match the iron shafts are are in playable shape. Using the extremely unscientific "waggle" test, they feel about the same as the stiff flex graphites I have in some other woods. So, take that for what it's worth... Brass soleplates for a lower CG. Very playable, advanced REAL wood for the day.
