Used. Could use new grip, but since kids are super picky on style and type I'm not replacing that now. It's certainly usable. Only used one season, had to graduate to a bigger bat. Great bat with a ton of pop. Since it's alloy it should have tons of life left in it.
From Marucci's website: The CAT9 is a precision balanced, one-piece alloy design with a medium M.O.I. For athletes who favor a mid-balanced metal bat, the CAT9 is the right choice. Both power-hitters and contact-hitters will enjoy the feel and performance of the CAT9.
Designed with a thermally treated AZR alloy for a more responsive and forgiving feel, the balanced one-piece CAT9 features a massive sweet spot that is ready to damage right out of the wrapper. No break-in necessary.
Features:
Utilizing a three-stage thermal treatment process, Marucci's new AZR alloy offers a more responsive microstructure for better feel, more forgiveness, and more performance while maintaining the same strength as its predecessor
Multi-variable wall design creates an expanded sweet spot and thinner barrel walls that are more forgiving after off-centered contact
2nd Generation AV2 Anti-Vibration knob features an upgraded, finely tuned harmonic dampening system for better feel and less negative vibrational feedback
Ring-free barrel construction allows for more barrel flex and increases performance with no "dead" spots
Precision-balanced barrel results in a lower M.O.I. and balanced feel for precision and control
One-piece alloy construction provides a clean, consistent, traditional swing
Professionally inspired handle features a removable taper and an ergonomic knob shape for more top-hand control and comfort
Micro-perforated soft-touch grip with extra tack improves feel and control
Grip weight and manufacturing tolerances may cause slight deviation from the listed weight
Perfect bat for:
Players who are looking to elevate their game with balance, power, and performance.

The Marucci CAT 9 features a single piece of aluminum with multivariable wall thickness, extending the sweet spot and reducing swing weight. The CAT9 features a Ring-free barrel which allows for more flex within the barrel and minimizes dead spots through the bat. This model includes new technologies like the AV2 knob to dampen sting on mishits and is available in BBCOR, USSSA, and USA versions.

They took the same design from the CAT8 and strengthened the CAT9 with a stronger alloy to avoid any denting issues. It's a very good, durable bat. The CAT9 will be a bit heavier than the CAT8; it's a better bat for stronger players. The first generation of the CAT9 came out with a gray, black, and red paint job. The second generation they called the Past Time, which was red, white, and blue. It's the same bat, but a different paint job. The second bat was more popular simply because of how it looked. Everyone likes the American Flag with its Stars and Stripes.
