This Zett Zitech BIG-1226 12" glove is a fantastic and rare blast from the past and takes me back to my high school days when I played ball in the 90s. This glove is steerhide leather which is thicker and more durable that standard cowhide, and Zetts are known for being on the stiffer side and holding their durability really well over time. This glove is no exception. In fact, it was a little too stiff when I got it so I used leather cleaner, conditioner, glove oil, and salve to soften it up. The leather really drank up the hydration and you can see in the before & after photos how it went back to its original darker coloring. I also relaced it with new black Rawlings laces and then wrapped it and beat it a big with the glove mallet to break it in and soften it up even more. Then I used acrylic to touch up some of the faded lettering and logo. I'm not Michelangelo but I think it came out pretty well. The Zitech series was part of Zett's high-quality production line before they shifted more heavily into the "Pro Status" and "Top Pro" models common today. I love the leather piping on the side which adds a bit of aesthetic flair in the design. The inside of the glove is in great shape as is the hand stall. (Please note there are the initials "S.K." on the thumb side written in marker) I loved my Zett when I played and they are great gloves from 30 years old that can still be used today and are valued greatly by collectors. Here's a chance to own a little piece of history and give a great glove a second chapter.
