Home Made Synthetic Turf Softball Pitching Mound

If you’re looking for a pitching training mat look no further! This mat is 9 feet long and 2 feet wide and has the “power line” going down the center of the entire mat. It’s made out of high grade synthetic turf used on baseball and softball fields. I painted a rubber(might glue a plastic rubber) or it’s something you could do if you wanted. I put one of these in my backyard, no grass grows through it. I put six spikes around the edges, which I am including and added one bag of playground sand which falls right through the fibers, all you do is broom it in until it’s no longer there… that also helps with the longevity of the mat. It’s very light and easy to move so if you wanna bring indoors on cement it won’t move much and duct tape works to hold it down. My 11 year old daughter has used for two months and has improved immensely, adding velocity and consistency while learning where to step. I use like a chalk paint and spray paint where I want her to be stepping and with a little water and broom it will boom right out and not erase the permanent paint.
