Gait D2 early prototype. Notice the sharp top hooks and blunter bottom hooks. I acquired a couple of these heads. They were from a Gait insider who said they were concepts / prototypes. You can see the difference between the original Gait D with the “can opener” and the softer hooks (top and bottom) that ended up in the D2-C and D2-T. To me this is a rare cool item to have in a collection. I bet most refs will not know the difference between this head and the NCAA approved heads, but I am not one to risk an non-releasable penalty, nor am I one who feels like a winner if deliberately find a loop-hole. Might be fun to play adult ball with or maybe use in Europe. I wish I had more of these. Feel free to ask questions if my description is confusing.
