The best skates I have ever owned. Superior design and feel to them. I bought the next size up!! These were used for nearly one season for about 2 hours a week before quarantine. The boots are in great shape and are still very stiff. They still need to be broken in just a little depending on your preference. You may want to bake them. I did not. They were so comfortable right out of the box. Cosmetic scratches and scuff marks. Lots of life on the steel. All they really need is a new pair of laces (see photos of laces). Next come the eyelets, which are brass, a feature that is almost exclusive to the top-of-the-line AS1 skates. These are highly durable, allowing players to tighten their laces without worry of the eyelets ever busting. The runner will give you a much better edge life and stronger resists corrosion. The SpeedBlade Black, also featured on the AS1s, is a high-performance blade with oxide treatment. You'll notice a difference in your blade when you're still skating on it years after first lacing up these skates. The rest of the skates mirror the Tacks 9080, the second-in-line of the AS1 series. 3D-lasted technology surrounds the quarter package and the RocketFrame Composite material throughout the boot both help players feel locked in to their skates while feeling lightweight and still protecting you at every turn. The SpeedCore 2 helps the skates become thermo-formable and allows for excellent performance top to bottom, taking away weight and adding protective qualities that don't weigh down the skates. The TotalDri liner w/ Durazone Abrasion Patches help wick moisture buildup away, keeping you dry and light. The anatomical response footbed provides support and supreme comfort. The injected midsole enhances your energy transfer from boot to blade, while the Concave Reinforced Clear TPU outsole w/ an exhaust system also helps the energy transfer be seamless.
