Used flare steel. There is a lot of life on this, but the DLC black coating rubbed off when it was being honed. The blade itself is really dirty as I wrapped it up in tape and has all this residue leftover. My finger is showing where the flare starts so you can see there is lots of life. I priced it to sell if anyone is interested in trying.
