Like a high-quality knife, there are no burrs on the edge when sharpened. The mirror finish, obtained by heavily polishing the steel, enhances glide quality. The blade's hard edge withstands bangs and impacts and lasts longer? a real plus when the action gets intense. The Extreme blades where made in order to give the Goalie a huge advantage, this advantage was to have the ability to put more of your pad on the ice whilst still having an edge touching the ice. with this goalies saw an improvement in their game and ultimately the NHL banned the blades for providing to much of an advantage.
