Bauer Supreme S150 Goalie Leg Pads Junior L

My son used these for a season of squirt hockey and he really loved how light they were. He is new to the position and he played a few games in some antique pads the team let us borrow and those were really heavy and made him getting into butterfly (and back up) really difficult. We got him these and immediately he noticed how light and easy they were to go down and back up. These would be great pads for a beginner goalie if you don't want to drop major $$ for expensive leg pads. according to Bauer: With a butterfly construction, the S150 is built to keep you lower and tighter to the ice. An adjustable knee lock provides a smarter fit and the strapping system provides a great fit for goalies of virtually every size. note: I swapped out the toe strap system that came with the original pads (it was GARBAGE, trust me) and I replaced them with some Monster Hockey hal toe straps (with the sleeve so you don't step on the cord and cut it). Check out Monster Hockey's site to learn more about that system. If you don't like it, just put some skate laces through the pads and do an old-fashioned toe strap.
