The bat performs well, offering a solid pop on contact. The only noticeable mark is a small pine tar stain above the handle, but otherwise, it looks almost like new. Both gens are an alloy one-piece bat, both very strong performers. They took the alloy and strength from the CAT9 and applied the balance and feel from the CAT8 to develop the CATX.
