Is a very balanced and light bat compared to other -8 bats. My son used it in travel ball and hit very consistently. This bat still has a lot of pop in it and has a vibration dampening knob that reduces stings by a lot. The bat has a very good feel to and it provides a balanced swing. Has no pine tar on grip.

CATX came out in 2023. The first gen is a white ribbon silver bat. For the second run, Marucci came out with a version called the CATX Vanta. It's a blacked-out, limited-edition. Both gens are an alloy one-piece bat, both very strong performers. They took the alloy and strength from the CAT9 and applied the balance and feel from the CAT8 to develop the CATX.
