Description

You are looking at a Rare 1974 Washington Stars New Era 59fifty size 7 by Hat Club. The Washington Stars were a planned relocation of the San Diego Padres in 1974. The team was bought by Joseph B. Danzansky of Giant Food 5 years after the Padres started and 4 years after the Expansion Senators moved to Texas and became the Rangers. Schedules were created, Topps printed cards with the Padres players that said "Washington Nat'l.Lea" as the team with players in the Padres Uniforms. Uniforms were made with this hat as the logo, similar to the Washington Black Senators of the Negro Leagues wore. However, it was all for naught as Ray Kroc of McDonalds saw in the paper the on going fiasco between the city of San Diego and the MLB and opted to buy the team and keep them in San Diego. Hat Club dropped these prototype hats in 2021 and were sold out quickly. Hat is in fantastic shape and is ready to be worn. All hats are shipped in a box. Stored in a pet and smoke free home. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like measurements. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases.   League: Major League (MLB) Sport: Baseball Officially Licensed: Yes Pre & Post Season: Regular Season Size: 7 Color: Blue Product: Cap, Hat Team: San Diego Padres Gender: Unisex Adult Country/Region of Manufacture: China Fantastic shape
