Pittsburgh 'City Stuff' UNLICENSED Cotton NOS Ball Cap (New)

In or around the late '90s, there was a strike (or some other equally daunting issue) that shut off -- albeit briefly -- the supply of licensed merchandise for Steelers games. If memory serves, it was only a game or two. City Stuff, we're pretty sure, came on the scene solely as a result of the cap shortage. Vendors, in the quest to offer something (anything) new for fans, bought these caps as an interim, "stop-gap" measure. These were marketed as suitable for baseball, football, or hockey since the three teams all shared similar team colors and, of course, there was no specific team reference on the cap as the product was unlicensed. Whatever was causing the original cap shortage was resolved fairly quickly, and City Stuff soon faded back into obscurity (as far as we can tell). These NOS (New Old Stock) hats are really not bad, actually -- you just won't find any team specifics anywhere. Regardless, they are a piece of history for the collector, and we offer these UNLICENSED caps for that reason. Even the tags on the caps make it clear that they are not licensed.
