Fischer previously offered a range of cross-country ski boots compatible with the Salomon Nordic System (SNS) binding standard, catering to both classic and skating techniques. These boots featured either the single-bar SNS Profil system for touring and classic skiing. While Fischer has shifted focus to the NNN/Prolink standard, older, durable Fischer SNS models remain common in the pre-owned market. (SNS, XC System was retired in 2015). Over time, Fischer (along with Salomon and Atomic) moved away from the proprietary SNS system in favor of the NNN (Rottefella) / Prolink system, which is now considered the industry standard for new equipment's. New Nordic Norm boots, come in both BC (backcountry) and non-BC styles. NNN boots have a single bar at the toe and two channels that line up with corresponding ridges on the binding.
