Eventually this shaft will be (2) inches short. There are different schools of thought on stick length for youth players. They are allowed to have overall sticks as short as 36”. Adults play with 40” overall. Some think give a kid a 40” shaft from the start. I believe best to give a shorter stick unless the kid is super tall. There is no other sport (I can think of) that we give a kid adult equipment and say, “have at it.” I do believe the only rules about lacrosse sticks are published and beyond that, whatever works for an individual is what’s right. I attach a picture of the rules…. Just note that the article sometime refers to shaft length and overall length. If Shaft is 30”, generally the overall length is 40” as head adds about 10”.
