Great shoulder pads, like new. My son grew like a weed since we got these, they were only used for about 3/4 a season. No odor or notable wear. For protection, Bauer includes a combination of high-end features throughout these pads to provide good coverage. These technologies include molded HD foam in the sternum; Vent Armor foam inserts in the front side panels; perforated foam in the back side panels; and anatomically molded HD foam in the arch. Bauer also uses molded HD foam for the all-important spine protection, and includes added rib coverage. And for the bicep, an adjustable one-piece construction is used with molded PE for quality upper arm coverage, added protection, and good mobility. For the interior of the S29 shoulder pads, Bauer implements their Thermo Max liner. This technology, while not at the level of the top-of-the-line Thermo Core liner, still offers a comfortable feel while helping to dry out the pads faster in between sessions so they are always ready to go. While the Supreme S29 shoulder pads are built for the casual player, those in this category who skate a couple times per week can still upgrade to a higher-level model like the 2S Pro if they want top-end protection and mobility.
